Des Moines Metro Opera's thirty-ninth season generated some extra-musical excitement with the unveiling of a 17,000-square-foot addition to the Blank Performing Arts Center that provides increased rehearsal space, as well as dining facilities, elevators and an impressive second-floor promenade. Matters onstage looked good, too.
