Description

Together with the Managing Director the Development/Fundraising Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the fundraising program to meet annual financial and operational targets. Manages, evaluates, and improves annual fundraising events and campaigns. Maintains and manages donor database and donor relations. Researches funding opportunities and develops grant proposals. 

  • The Development Manager position is a full-time exempt position located in Indianola Iowa.

  • Acts as primary contact and works with all departments (Marketing/PR, Art, Box Office and Artistic).

  • Conducts timely, successful annual campaigns.

  • Manages donor database, donor relations, and donation processing.

  • Is primary contact for presentations and external campaigns.

  • Writes grants, seeks funding opportunities, seeks and develops funding proposals.

  • Develops fundraising strategies and plans.

Requirements
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 2 years experience with a proven track record of raising funds or sales and special events.

  • Familiarity with a variety of fundraising concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Familiarity with grant research, writing and reporting.

  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Good analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions relating to job tasks required.
