Gaetano Donizetti wrote more than 70 operas during his lifetime, and among the most popular and enduring is The Elixir of Love. It tells the tale of the clever and beautiful Adina, her ardent admirer Nemorino, and the lengths to which he will go to win her heart. One of the great tenor arias in all of opera, ‘Una furtiva lagrima’ will captivate the listener this summer as it has for generations past.
